When I heard from Ms. Vina Sianipar, Le Mariage Indonesia's editor, that I had the change to shoot their next cover, am so surprised and excited at the same time. and start squeezing my brain for the next minute. and hey! it's summer wedding right? so I know already that we'll shoot in the beach. and yes, it turns out sooo great. I love the result.

Oceanida is a story about a woman from the ocean and then live between human, and turns into one as the time goes by. this spread featuring my gorgeous muse, Ms Katya Talanova and beautifuly shoot by Mr. Julius Brahmanto in Tidung Island, North Jakarta, I hope you can see the transformation from the beginning until in the end of the spread she already wear an urban-modern wedding dress by Tri Handoko and walk with her two legs.

'NOT THE END OF THE GAME' a groom spread for LE MARIAGE JULY 2012 with RICKO SANDY

DUFAN - means DO-FUN. well.. at least, I did! just like my recent contribution as stylist for Le Mariage Indonesia's groom section spread. a perfectly captured pictures featuring Jun Tyler a British-Japanesse male model from SNAP-international as a groom on his bachelor party. for me it also a perfect picture of how a 'summer groom' should be: playful, colorful, yet well-suited.

'NOT THE END OF THE GAME' is also my personal-and the entire team tribute to the late Mr Muara Bagja, as one of the most influential person in the Indonesia fashion industry and media. even though that i never have the change to know him personally, but just by several ocassional meeting, he inspired me as a young-still learning-stylist to be tough and don't forget to be nice from the heart and have fun in this (how some people described as) mean-backstabbing industry. he also remembered for his infamous Salvador Dali's moustache and playful styling.. that's why you will see some in this following spread. I hope he has his best place there in heaven and i also hope his works will always be remembered among us, and his legacies will remain.

'DOOM' a fashion photography portfolio with RICKO SANDY

So... it's already half way to the end of... 2012. well, you all saw that 2012 movie right? the one that shows how apocaliptic the world will be? I'm inspired by that. the apocaliptic things, not the movie.

Doom is a story of what the people will do after the apocalipse. some will survive and greaving their loved ones, some of them lose their looks and identity, some of them move on and try to stay alive, and some of them become dark faith-losing person. will the world going back to zero? no. but some people life will.

i love the result very much because as you may see, I haven't shoot some dark thingy recently.. it feels like a breezy air to my sugar-candy-romantic-sentimental-recent-portfolio. enjoy!

'SWAG' a fashion photography portfolio with SHAKTI SIDDARTA

Shakti Siddarta, aka, Buke ask me to shoot male Model from VTM, named Jakub Elias. since it's for portfolio, so I just find items in my entire wardrode that well, kinda fit on him.

Basically, i came to the studio without any concept.. but then I saw my early 90's multi-colored sequined baseball cap, and it inspired me to create late 80's-90's Highschool boy in movies, you know.. the bad boy - alpha male during highschool who rarely have brain and just focusing on the girls.. and show of that they have 'swag'.

'BLOT!' a beauty shoot portfolio with IFAN HARTANTO

Blot means spots of ink or stain. like when you had tomato sauce on your shirt during lunch.. it also can be 'disgrace'  but that's not what we mean by this beauty spread.

It tooks hours to create these looks.. and of course lotsssssss of Blot on the team's clothes. we mixed food coloring liquid, water, and flour to create the texture for the hair do, so don't worry, filantropi's hair still black and it's safe for her scalp. Anyway, I kinda like the result! enjoy!

I have to say that the team did a great job, however, shroom studio's floor looks like a post-war area.. colors everywhere in the floor... oops.

Denny Wirawan 2012 collection at Jakarta Food Fashion Festival

Oooh... This summer almost over.. How's your summer vacation? Not having it??? Don't worry, u may go gracefully to the land of exotic eternal summer like turky, kazakhtan, or perhaps dubai or abu dhabi.. Oh, by the way, talking about grace middle east, Denny Wirawan create an exotic world of middle-east exotic upper-crust in the Jakarta Food&Fashion Festifal this May. Gorgeous-gorgeous-gorgeous collection, printed fabric mixed with beautiful embelishment, and hand-stich embroidery.

Very luxury yet exquisite collection both for the men and women's wear. And the cherry on top of the sundae is the accessories! I LOVE the headpieces, necklaces, and styling of this show. I guess we all know how i always adore a collection based on two thing, craftmanship and showmanship. this collection has both.

Monica azis closed the show gracefully with the Isabella Blow-esque headpieces on amazingly beautiful detailed long kaftan dress. What can I say more? This show deserved to be be titled as the best show of JFFF 2012 and here's some of the details shoot to end this magnificent collection's review!

BIYAN ready to wear 2012-2013 'FOLIAGE'

Biyan is an extraordinary designer. And his annually fashion show is one of the most awaited show in the whole nation, just like chanel show in paris fashion week. And this year, biyan shows his beautiful craftmanship with a very amazing glass-house on stage decoration. The theme is 'foliage' this year Biyan still on his very own lane with a gorgeous embelishment, printed fabric, peplum siluethe and volumuous cut

Even that this year only 2 sequences, but Biyan already provide the perfect beautiful illusion for all the attendees that night. Since now and then, Biyan show will be a bed-time urban tale told from mother to daughter, and the little girls will dreaming of wearing a Biyan dress. Nomore cinderella story.. Because Biyan provide a beautiful dream that much more realistic, yet still amazingly

And I'd love to say many-many thanks to Mr Sapto Djojokartiko for supporting my accessories to attend the show, beautiful statement necklace with gold shades embelishment and detail. I felt amazing and stunning wearing the necklace. Once again, thank you very much.

XOXO,
Mr J

Edbe imperata normadechic

Ikat is everywhere!!! I think Ikat is the traditional fabric of 2012. And gladly, now Indonesian designers provide us with lots of options, design, and cutting. One of the best showed by EDBE, the second line of Eddy Betty, an Indonesian prestigious couturier, collaborating with Ley.

This year collection, entitled 'imperata-normadechic' inspired by the free spirit way of life of the nomaden people with layered clothes and volumuous cut. This ready to wear collection provides both for women and men's wear.

With three sequences that ensembled the morning, noon, and sunset, EDBE beautifully play the exotic fabric of ikat, and successfully mix it with linen, cotton, and some other comforting material. It also proof and wipe away the common people asumption, that 'EDBE is Eddy Betty's batik line' because our exotic fabric is much more than just batik, and EDBE successfully explore it.

My favorite part is the opening of last sequences with male models walk together with amazing styling and gorgeous feather accessories privided by Rinaldy A Yunardi.

U may visit EDBE's boutique in jalan Gunawarman, South Jakarta. At the very same building with Rinaldi A Yunardi's South Jakarta's branch.

And by the way, i love my jacket that specially made for me that i wore to this EDBE event. It was made from balinese prada fabric by my beloved friend, Esmod alumnee, an emerging Young designer, Ms Sischaet Detta.

Thank you very much for the jacket! I really-really love it!

Xoxo,
MR J
